The Los Angeles Angels announced the return of superstar outfielder Mike Trout on Friday in a unique way, turning to the TikTok social media platform to inform fans of the news.
In the video, "things we love to see" are listed off, including "(Shohei) Ohtani's hair," "(Michael) Lorenzen's biceps," and "Trout's back," among other things.
The three-time AL MVP has been out since mid-July, as the team has continued to tumble further out of the playoff picture. Trout exited the Angels' contest early on July 12 with what was first diagnosed as "back spasms."
He was placed on the 10-day injured list one week later due to left rib cage inflammation. Just over three weeks ago, it was reported that Trout was diagnosed with a rare back condition that could be a factor the rest of his career.
For what it's worth, the 10-time All-Star later looked to downplay the report by saying "my career isn't over."

Mike Trout is back. The Angels have activated him off the injured list for their series in Detroit. He had been out since before the All-Star break with a back issue, and now he'll rejoin Shohei Ohtani in the lineup. Enjoy it. Who knows how much longer we'll get to see it.

Trout returns to the active roster with a .270/.368/.599 slash line to go with 24 home runs and 51 RBI across 79 games.
