The St. Louis Cardinals certainly are loving what they are seeing from Jordan Walker.

The 20-year-old top prospect made his Major League Baseball debut with the club on Opening Day and hasn't looked back since. Walker became the youngest player to make his team debut in over 40 years but hasn't looked like a rookie in the slightest.

St. Louis has played six games so far this season and Walker has gotten at least one hit in each of them. The Cardinals have a day off Thursday, but return to action Friday night and if Walker can collect another hit, he will join Juan Yepez as rookies to begin their careers with hit streaks of seven games or more.

The current team record holder for a hitting streak to begin a career is former Cardinals outfielder Magneuris Sierra who began his career with hits in nine straight games in 2017, according to MLB.com's John Denton.

The soonest Walker could tie Sierra's record would be Sunday afternoon against the Milwaukee Brewers if he were to remain in the starting lineup each game. Walker could break the record as soon as Monday night against the Colorado Rockies if he's able to maintain his current level of play.

Walker has been a bright spot in a season that hasn't gone as excepted so far. It has only been a small sample size, but the Cardinals are 2-4 through six games. The 20-year-old outfielder has impressed slashing .333/.360/.542 through his first six games of his career to go along with a home run and five RBIs.

The youngster is sure to play a major role with the club season and for years to come and if he's able to live up to the hype, this won't be the last time he has a chance to make team history.
